Getting Started
During the phone discussion, Always Happy Tails will setup an initial consultation. During the consultation the pet sitter will visit you and your pet(s) in your home and fill out the necessary paperwork and ask pertinent questions. We are VERY thorough and promise you will be able to set your mind as ease by the time we leave! Your pet sitter will interact with your pet(s), and become familiar with your home. We will gladly answer any questions you may have. The appointment takes approximately one hour and by the time it’s over you will have complete confidence that your pet(s) will be well cared for by Always Happy Tails.
The purpose of the initial consultation is for the pet sitter to meet you and your pet(s) and to complete the Service Agreement, pet profile(s), pick up two keys and collect payment for the scheduled reservation.
Paperwork:
The following information is needed to complete the paperwork so we know how to take the best possible care of your loved ones and your home.
· Names, phone numbers and emergency contact information.
· Vet Information.
· If you live in an apartment or gated community, any access code we may need.
· Any alarm information/instruction needed.
· Names of all medications with detailed instructions to administer. It is very helpful if all medicines are left in original bottles.
· Brand and type of food that pet(s) eat along with brand of treats.
Keys:
We understand the enormous responsibility that is involved and the trust you are putting in us to keep your key(s) safe and secure. For this reason, we code our keys and always have 2 keys on file. Our safe and secure coding system prevents anyone from linking the key back to the client.
Always Happy Tails requires two keys. One key is for the pet sitter and one is for the office. This ensures that if a key were to break we can continue caring for your pet(s) without difficulty. Keys are coded and kept in a safe place. Before your pet sitter leaves the initial consultation, both keys will be tested to make sure they work.
By using the Always Happy Tails key program, keys can be retained by the pet sitter and the office allowing all future visits to be handled by phone. We do not allow clients to hide keys outside, under mats or in mailboxes and we do not lock keys in the house on the last visit. Our satisfied clients enjoy knowing that if an emergency occurs (a last minute trip or late night at the office) we can step in quickly and make sure their pet(s) are cared for with lots of love!
If you prefer to have your key returned to you, a pickup/drop off key charge will be added.
*Also please note we do not accept garage door openers in lieu of keys. Nor do we accept door codes. If there was a power outage or dead batteries we would not be able to get into the house and take care of your precious pets.*
Book your reservation:
It would be wonderful to have advance notice on when you are leaving! It is very appreciated. However, short notices are okay too!
Daily Communication Logs:
Every time a pet sitter enters your home, they will leave you a Daily Log letting you know how your babies are and what was done during that visit. All our clients love to read how their “fur-kids” did while they were away! If you would enjoy an email or text message during your trip away please let us know and that is easy to do as well!
Rates:
Rate varies according to type of service. Please see “Services” page for specific rates. Our visits are priced according to the time it would take to provide you and your pets with our top-quality loving service. Our pet sitters are known for going over and beyond the expectations of our clients and we are happy to provide that type of service each and every time!
Payment:
Payment of services is due prior to departure. All new clients pay for the first service during the initial consultation. Any trip after that can be left on the counter (cash/check) or you may pay thru PayPal on the website!
A $35 late fee will be applied if services are not paid for prior to leaving.
Always Happy Tails currently accepts MasterCard and Visa. A PayPal link will soon be available via our website. We also accept payment in the form of Cash and Checks.
